Introduction
The Murray Irrigators Support Group is committed to ensuring that its financial arrangements are carried out in an ethical manner.
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to establish the framework and guidelines within the Murray Irrigators Support Group here in known as MISG for the creation of productive partnerships between MISG and the private sector, i.e. sponsorship alliances with corporations, foundations, individuals and other non-government organisations. A sponsorship is about relationship building and is a powerful way to build and strengthen partnerships. It is recognised that such alliances can provide important financial and marketing support to potential partners of MISG while at the same time generate additional revenues to support MISG's mission and mandate.

Principles
The following are the fundamental principles that shape our relationships with sponsors:
1. Sponsorship of MISG or of any symposium, project, program or event will not entitle any sponsor to influence any decision of MISG.
2. MISG will not enter into any alliance or partnership with any corporation or organisation where the association with the prospective partner or acceptance of the sponsorship would jeopardise the financial, legal or moral integrity of MISG or adversely impact upon MISG's standing and reputation in the community. All tobacco sponsorships are prohibited.
3. MISG will accept sponsorships as an additional source of revenue generation provided that all sponsorship alliances are developed and maintained within the regulations embodied in this sponsorship policy.
4. All sponsorship alliances or partnerships must be consistent with existing MISG policies.
Policy
1. All event and project sponsorships must have significant financial commitment from the sponsor to help offset the costs associated with the activity.
2. All sponsorship relationships with MISG must be identified and recorded for information purposes to encourage a donor-centered approach to revenue generation.
3. Naming rights associated with any sponsorship must be approved by MISG.
4. Sponsorship over $500 will be embodied in written contractual agreements between MISG and the sponsorship partner (See Appendix A).
Responsibility
MISG is responsible for the implementation and review of this policy.
MISG members, casual, permanent and contract staff and volunteers are responsible for adhering to this policy.
APPENDIX A
SPONSORSHIP CONTRACTS/LETTERS OF AGREEMENT GUIDELINES
Description of the Sponsorship Alliance:
1. MISG will provide an alternate web presence for the sponsor on the sponsor’s page and will provide a link to sponsors website.
2. MISG provides your own personal web designer who can enter and change your page as often as you require.
3. MISG on receiving web content from sponsor will enter sponsors content to website.
4. MISG platinum, gold and silver sponsors will receive recognition and promotion on the web site in this order, Platinum- Gold-Silver.
5. MISG will display sponsors logo on MISG correspondence, size of logo depends on level of sponsorship taken.
6. Media: Recognition as a sponsor in MISG media articles.
7. MISG Field days: Sponsors displays at MISG field days.
Associate Sponsors share all benifits of sponsorship.
8. Terms of Agreement: The dates for commencement and conclusion of sponsorship alliances will be the date confirmation of sponsorship is received at MISG.
The date for conclusion of a sponsorship alliance will be received in letter form to MISG.
9. Limitations on and Approval of the Use of the MISG’s Name: The following clause limits the use of our name by the sponsor in its own internal and external promotion and advertising as per the negotiated arrangements: "Neither party, in any situation, whether within or outside the parameters of the sponsorship, shall be deemed to be the spokesperson for, or the representative, of the other party." The use of the MISG's word mark, logo or crest must be stipulated in all contracts and agreements.
10.Financial Terms and Schedule of Payments:
Levels of sponsorship:
Silver: $125.00 per 3 months for sponsorship, $500 per year.
Gold: $250.00 per 3 months for sponsorship, $1000 per year.
Platinum: $500 per 3 months for sponsorship, $2000 per year.
Sponsors will be invoiced three monthly.
Associate Sponsorship a joint agreeement.
11.Breach of Contract: Prior to initiating formal notification of breach of contract, the parties will undertake all appropriate and reasonable efforts to resolve the matter. Should these efforts not prove successful, either party may notify the other of breach of contract in writing, sent by mail or courier, return receipt requested. Such notification will request a written response by a specific date. Non-compliance will constitute cause for dissolution of the contract.
11.Right to Discontinue the Sponsored Program or Event: When circumstances beyond the control of MISG force the cancellation or substitution of a sponsored event or project, MISG reserves the right to cancel without finding itself financially liable or in breach of contract.
